March 2011 James River Flood
- The recent flood brought up an interesting issue: What is the flood history at the HHCA river property? How high may the water levels rise? Are the houses on the river prone to flooding?

Peter Stech took measurements during the recent flood and correlated them with the official Westham Gage water levels available at http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=akq&gage=rmdv2&view=1,1,1,1,1,1.

A report of the measurements is available at http://huguenothundred.org/protected/flood/floodreport.pdf. You can also calculate the water level and how it relates to the homes located on the James using the Westham Gage readings. Go to  http://huguenothundred.org/protected/flood/flood.htm for flood level calculations.

Results are for information only and may vary from actual flood levels. Actual measurements are very limited.

HHCA Trail Map available. Have you walked all the trail on the HHCA property? Check out the trail map! Adobe Acrobat Reader required!

2008 - Capital Improvements completed. View photos showing scouts in action. Great news. 5 new benches for your enjoyment along the river are a welcome addition. Tired of lugging your canoe down to the river? You can rent space  on the new canoe rack for a small annual fee. Details will be made available shortly. Until then please contact Brooks Nelson for details.

2007 Sewer Issue - With the Huguenot Hundred development now reaching a certain age some of the houses may experience problems with the septic system. Life cycle of a septic system depends largely on the type of soil and usage. Floyd Farleigh approached the county regarding sewer lines for the development. Attached you will find the counties response dated August 2005.
